The Relief Of Finding A Wedding Magician

By Andrew Edmonds

When arrangements are made for a wedding, many different plans must be made. The colors, the location, the reception, the wedding dress, and numerous small as well as large things are involved. If time is rather short it may be time to engage a Wedding Magician in the form of a family member or some other knowledgeable person to help with decision-making as well as ensuring tasks are completed on time. Those who can pull off the party of the century are truly magicians in every sense of the word.

When to ask for help in planning a wedding, reception, or honeymoon is based on individual preference which is often impacted by time and resources. Some people are able to take over from the start and need no assistance. Others, who have not done much planning feel overwhelmed from the very beginning. If this is the case then it is time to decide just how much help is needed. A couple planning a wedding should sit down and decide what they will do together and when the help of others is required.

Planning a wedding is almost the opposite to learning a new job after being hired. In a job a person is not expected to know exactly what they are to do the day they walk in, but instead will undergo extensive training until feeling competent to complete tasks on their own. When planning a wedding, however, brides are often expected to be experts immediately and every wrong decision can cost money. Therefore, selecting vendors, scheduling events, gathering everyone on time, getting everything out on time, and setting up on time can all be more than they can manage.

It is common for the bride-to-be to ask her mother or a close relative to assist her in choosing her wedding gown. The color theme for the wedding is sometimes agreed on with the groom, but usually this is the bride's job. The bridesmaids usually accompany the bride in trying on different styles for their dresses with the bride choosing the color. For those who serve in the role of wedding magician, or wedding planner, this selection helps set the theme for the wedding and determines many other elements of the wedding and reception.

As a couple, the bride and groom have certain responsibilities that cannot be designated to others, although suggestions are always invited. Among these are the minister, the church, and honeymoon destination. Once these decisions are made, the other elements such as the reception site, wedding cake design, and floral arrangements can be designed and ordered with the bride and groom's consent.

Wedding magicians can take many forms and many are not recognized for the contributions they make. One example is the parents who often not only provide the funding to pull off the couple's vision, but also provide support in so many other ways. Many a mother has spent the final hours before the wedding making guest favors and finishing dresses. They often are the ones that make the magic happen although they are rarely recognized as major contributors, even though their participation is appreciated.

Although a wedding planner may be considered too expensive for people planning a wedding they are really worth the cost. They will assist in all aspects of the event, not the least of which is the reception. They also have a variety of vendors available that often give significant discounts when working with the planner. For instance, the reception concerns finding the proper location, decorating, finding a caterer for the event, locating a good bakery to prepare the wedding cake, making guest favors, and many other things. They only goal is to ensure that the magic of the day is worth remembering for a lifetime.

A wedding magician is any person who can assist the bride and groom to make their wedding a beautiful memory that will last their entire lives. Sometimes it is someone hired, sometimes it is family or friends, but in any case, this person or persons involved will make the day seem magical for all involved. - 30290

New Magic Tricks Secrets Revealed: The Death Of Old-Time Magic

By James Anthony

Old-school magicians see themselves as part of an ancient tradition of illusions and slight-of-hand. They value, guard and uphold the secrets that have been the mainstay of their profession for hundreds of years. Starting in the 1990s, Penn & Teller, a two-man team of magicians, threw open the doors of secrecy and began revealing how the tricks were done. They were the first in a long series of new magicians who had no loyalty to the secrets of the craft of magic and illusion and were more than happy to reveal secrets when the price was right. Who are these new magicians? What kind of new magic tricks secrets have they revealed? Have the new magic tricks secrets revealed been detrimental to the profession of magic as a whole or have they spurred interest in magic? Let us take a look.

Harry Houdini became a staunch critic of Spiritualism, seances and other tricks claiming supernatural powers. He spent the latter part of his life debunking Spiritualist frauds. He revealed to the public how these hucksters preyed on people who were often in mourning for a lost loved one by faking contact with the loved on at a seance. Houdini did not seem to anger his fellow magicians, probably because he was only exposing people using magic to defraud people, not as entertainment.

Perhaps the most famous pair of new magic tricks secrets revealed is Penn & Teller. By 1996, they had been on television exposing trade secrets. Despite the fact that most of what they were revealing was old magic tricks with their particular spin on them, and the fact that all they revealed was the part they added, other magicians were furious. In their opinion, Penn & Teller were completely out of line.

The Amazing Randi (James Randi) began his magic career in 1966. He has since retired but has a second career of sorts debunking faith healers and other performers claiming their tricks were due to their supernatural abilities. One famous act Mr. Randi revealed as a fraud was the spoon-bending Uri Geller. At the current time, James Randi's educational foundation has a $1,000,000 prize to anyone who can show that they have supernatural abilities. They must consent to these abilities being scrutinized by researchers. So far the foundation still has all of the money in its possession.

One of the more extensive series of shows was that of the Masked Magician who had a television show on the FOX network during the 1990s about new magic tricks secrets revealed. He claimed he wore the mask for his own protection from the wrath of other magicians. He finally removed his mask and showed the world that he was Val Valentino (not his real name). The Masked Magician showed how some of the biggest magic tricks were performed, such as appearing to fly and the lady becoming a tiger. This exposure did not please his fellow magicians.

Val Valentino has born the fury of other magicians claiming that Valentino has ruined their careers. They believe that since people know how the trick works, they will not watch their performances. Valentino claims that his motive for revealing magic tricks was strictly to promote magic as a profession and to get kids interested in doing magic tricks. He did, however, make a tidy sum of money for doing the shows on FOX.

Barry and Stuart, a magic act duo, started a series of television shows in the United Kingdom during the 1990s. In this show they took a look at how biblical miracles could have been just illusions. Barry and Stuart performed the "miracles" on the show. As would be expected, this upset followers of Christianity and Judaism because it called into question the authenticity of the miracles.

So, there we have it, six magic acts who have broken the magician's code and revealed a substantial amount of trade secrets. Have they helped revive magic as a profession? It is hard to tell whether or not the new magic tricks secrets revealed have helped or hindered magic acts. What is known is that the public is hungry for this secret knowledge and magic shows and shows that reveal how magic tricks are done draw large audiences. Regardless if people know how the trick works, they will still always be amazed that the illusion looks so real. And that is what magic is all about. - 30290

The Incredibly Amazing Magician

By Miles Sunkest

I had a most interesting experience last Saturday night. Usually I just sit around and watch TV, but a friend called and said his brother had gotten some tickets to this show. It was some kind of magic show. I'd never really been interested in magic, up to now at least.

The only other time I'd actually seen a magician that wasn't on TV was at my friends Confirmation party. It was in junior high school, and they had this magician come. He was OK, he did some card tricks, and pulled some coins out of my friend's ears. Nothing out of the ordinary.

But the guy we saw the other night was way different. He didn't just do some basic tricks, he did these things that I didn't even think were possible. I don't even remember this guys name, but he had the whole crowd completely mesmerized during the entire show. The way people were looking at him, I really wanted to learn some magic tricks on my own.

The first thing he did were these pseudo psychic tricks. He started guessing peoples ages, and weights. Basic stuff. Just to get the crowd warmed up. Then he started doing harder stuff, like guessing peoples drivers license numbers and stuff.

What happened next was completely out of control. He walked around the audience and shook hands with random people. Then he went back up on stage, and started telling this story about his dog when he was a kid. During the story, all the people that he'd shaken hands with started walking up to the stage, without being asked. They looked like zombies or something.

Then these people started guessing peoples information. Even the names of spouses and children. It was downright spooky, but it was also the best magic show I've ever seen. I'd forgotten how good a magic show can be. If you haven't seen one lately, you should go and check one out. - 30290
